Performance evaluation of MU-MIMO precoding with user selection on 5G-NR channel model

In this paper we study the performance of the downlink multiuser MIMO system based on Zero Forcing beamforming using the user selection algorithms. The sum-rate performance in MU-MIMO system depends on real propagation condition and for spatially correlated channel the appropriate user selection algorithms are used to select the user subset with low correlation between channel vectors. Two user selection algorithm - semiorthogonal user selection and greedy user selection are numerically evaluated based on the open source MIMO channel model and Least Squares channel estimation. The sum rate performance depending on number of users and SNR are presented.
