The multimedia traffic in WLAN causes overloads. During WLAN overloads the packets are stuck in WNIC buffer and the delivery time increases. Performance analysis of the 802.11 WLAN has been studied in detail recently but the specificity of multimedia traffic transmission in WLAN (the buffer size, wait time limit) has not been sufficiently studied. This paper propose a performance modeling approach using a combination of analytical modeling and simulation.
